This paper discusses the function of educators of babies and small children in the psychic structuring of children nowadays. The psychoanalytic theory is used to make this reflection. The theoretical path departs from the experience of satisfaction in Freud (1895/1996) aiming at understanding the construction of the psychic reality operated from the encounter with the Other, added to the lacanian theory of constitution of the subject through the process that involves the dialectic between alienation and separation to, finally, approach the three times of fantasy analyzed by Freud in 1919. The paper departs from the premise that the inaugural marks that the Other inscribes on the baby's body allow for its subjective constitution, since it is the encounter with the Other that introduces the subject to language and awakens pleasure. It is concluded that the teaching function is not confused with the place of the Other parental in the present time, it enters as another element in this work of transmission the language, the desire and the particularity of the pleasure already begun.
