Resumen

FRANCA, Cassandra Pereira  y  MAZZINI, Cristiana de Amorim. Agreements and disagreements between Laplanche and Lacan: psychoanalytic approaches to social issues. Psicol. clin. [online]. 2018, vol.30, n.2, pp. 211-228. ISSN 0103-5665.  http://dx.doi.org/10.33208/PC1980-5438v0030n02A01.

The critique regarding the "unconscious structured as language" presented by Laplanche at the Bonneval Colloquium, in 1960, seemed at first to be only a by-product of Lacan's theory. However, later on, such critique was extended to structuralism itself, highlighting a debate that was responsible for the breakup between these authors. In spite of not referring to Laplanche's ideas directly, we sustain that LGBT and feminist movements have a common point with Laplanche's critique of structuralism. Judith Butler contributes to this discussion by pointing out the importance of power for subjective construction, making it impossible to set apart gender from power. Therefore, literature about this subject leads us to conclude that, even if Lacan has offered tools to conceive of contemporary issues in a more flexible way, after taking some of the critiques about structuralism into consideration, there still are authors who employ his theory in order to uphold oppressive stances, which demands a reassessment.

Palabras clave : structuralism; gender; social movements; contemporaneity.
