BUSTAMANTE, Vania. Care for children and their families and complaints of aggressiveness: a clinical case study. Psicol. clin. [online]. 2020, vol.32, n.1, pp. 15-34. ISSN 0103-5665.  http://dx.doi.org/10.33208/PC1980-5438v0032n01A01.

This article focuses on mental health care for children within the context of aggressiveness complaints. The study was carried out in the "Brincando em Família" (family playing) project in Salvador, Bahia, and assists children together with their families. This case study entailed the analysis of a clinical case consisting of a child and his family, assisted for a few months, analyzed from a psychoanalytic perspective. The results were that aggressive expression is part of a process of emotional maturation in which it is important for the child to express aggression, experience the survival of the environment and thus build a relationship based on trust. The socio-cultural aspects that naturalize aggressiveness as a characteristic of the male device of efficacy are pointed out and highlighted as a dimension that demands new studies. The importance of including the family in the proffered care is shown, since this allows family members to understand and welcome the child's emotional needs and to increase respect for the differences between them. It is argued that the care offered here addresses demands that are different from CAPSi, basic care and outpatient care, and has the potential to strengthen the autonomy of families, thus counteracting medicalization.
