Abstract

FIGUEIREDO, Luís Claudio  and  MINERBO, Marion. Research in psychoanalysis: some ideas and an example. J. psicanal. [online]. 2006, vol.39, n.70, pp. 257-278. ISSN 0103-5835.

Initially the authors differentiate research in psychoanalysis and research with the use of the psychoanalytic method. In the first case psychoanalysis is the object of research. The researcher does not need to be an active psychoanalyst. He may be a philosopher, a historian, a sociologist or a literary critic. In the second case a psychoanalyst is required. In this case, the object, the subject (the researcher) and his means of investigation (technical concepts) are transformed in the end of the research. The procedure is then minutely exemplified by the analysis of an interview. In the final considerations, the therapeutic dimension and its field of validity are considered along with the investigative dimension.

Keywords : Research in psychoanalysis; Research with the psychoanalytic method; Psychoanalytic analysis of an interview.
