This paper discusses the concept of therapeutic function through the description of psychoanalytic work in general hospital ward that is offered by the author as an example of extended clinic in Psychoanalysis. It is defined as a transferential function that displaces common sense values and brings about representations that almost unbearably reveal the logic of conceiving, or the logic of the unconscious. The author names the experience developed with this group of nurses as Group of Investigation of Therapeutic Function.
