Abstract

VILETE, Edna Pereira. Stage Beauty: the femenine, from Freud to Winnicott. J. psicanal. [online]. 2006, vol.39, n.71, pp. 65-77. ISSN 0103-5835.

Starting with a film, Stage Beauty, the author studies human bisexuality, reviewing initially Freud's ideas on the subject and presenting afterwards, Winnicott's original concepts of pure female element and pure male element. She relates these concepts to a basic identity and to primary creativity which are impaired, resulting in the establishment of a false self, as a consequence of a developmental disturbance.
