Abstract

SILVA, Maria Cecília Pereira da. Real play: Lucas' path. J. psicanal. [online]. 2006, vol.39, n.71, pp. 203-221. ISSN 0103-5835.

In this paper I present Lucas' psychoanalytical path. He is a five-year old boy who has a lively and curious outlook. He is also very vulnerable to separations and has great difficulty dealing with impulsivity. I report on how the play activity was established: it went from a repetitive movement in which Lucas and I roleplayed children cartoon's heroes up to real play as he himself named it, constituted by his play and dream capacity. My attempt is to show how throughout this path I have been the guardian of our history by offering continence and enabling the transformation of unthinkable separation anguish and agonies in experiences that are available to be contained and represented.

Keywords : Child analysis; Play; Separation anguish; Impulsivity; Analytical function.
