Through fragments of clinical material of a patient, the author presents some ideas about levels of interpretation correlated with to different configurations of the mind which are characterized by specific anxieties and ways of communication. These hypotheses elaborated for the first time in this paper were gradually put together through the author’s exercise of thinking over her daily clinical practice with children, adolescents and adults within a large spectrum of distortions, stifling states and inhibitions in emotional development.
