Abstract

PROCHNO, Caio César Souza Camargo  and  ROMERA, Maria Lúcia Castilho. The body and the clinic: hosting possibilities in the contemporary world. J. psicanal. [online]. 2007, vol.40, n.73, pp. 191-204. ISSN 0103-5835.

Based on ideas concerning the narcissistic organizations, the regime of farce, the society of the spectacle, articulated with elements of contemporary clinic, this work intends to consider the place that the analytical method is placed in the merging paradigm of sciences. The work is based on analytical experience with young people with severe psychical sufferings. These youngers, cocooned in an image of superficiality, show body marks such as tattoos and piercing which express the inaccessibility to nothingness. From the bond experience in analysis, a certain space demarcation condition can supervene. This analytical bond opens up for surprising experiences of strangeness which are inherent in the process of reappropriation of the individual and social body. In that sense, the time and space of singularities are inaugurated or re-inaugurated rearranging parts of the “casted” functionality and standardization.

Keywords : Body; Contemporary time; Psychoanalytic clinic; Psychoanalytic method; Teenagers.
