This paper basically comments on Mario Gomberoff’s contribution published in this number. It discusses the interference of the Institution in the personal analysis of candidates and the deleterious consequences, namely the maintenance of an analysis that is, in its essence, in opposition to the very nature of the psychoanalytic process. The “training” aspect becomes the main issue in detriment of focusing analysis of the transference. In this context, training analysis acquires the meaning of a fetish and of ideological formation, thus becoming a symptom supported by disavowal. The consequences are the sterilization of creativity and the freezing of the relationship between training analyst and candidate in a constant repetition.
