This paper deals with the complexities concerning psycho-analytical training, since in this area, as opposed to others, subjectivity is entirely involved and cannot be neutralized. The only way one becomes sensitive to unconscious processes in oneself and others is through one’s own analysis. Analytical training thus requires the experience of deep analysis, which, on the other hand, is only fully achieved when based on one’s true need of analysis, and never as an institutional requirement.
