The author brings up some ideas and personal reflections about the psychoanalytic education as offered in the Institute of Psychoanalysis (SBPSP) for the last thirty years, reviewing mainly the issues related to training analysis. Some of the author’s ideas and positions are exposed, aiming to clarify the adopted point of view, which emphasizes the importance of training analysis. The paper has no intention of responding to positions other authors have risen, constituting only the author’s reflections.
