Abstract

KOLENKAUTSKY, Saúl Peña. Psychoanalysis today: my experience of forty years as a psychoanalyst. J. psicanal. [online]. 2008, vol.41, n.74, pp. 225-237. ISSN 0103-5835.

In this paper, the author presents his vital experience, his treatment approach and fundamental pillars, resulting from forty years of clinical practice. He emphasizes that his patients are a source of remarkable knowledge that allowed him to constitute personal theories. This, together with his personal analysis, allowed him to take notice of the subjectivity, distinctivity and uniqueness of each bond. The person is more than the diagnosis; his history, his unconscious ideology allows us to discover that we respond in different ways, recognizing the existence of common elements. His technique is not based in any scheme, other than that which was dialectically synthesized in his unconsciousness. He does not choose whether he will interpret the impulse, desire, defense or affect; his integral selection will do the best of each moment at each time. Interpretation is a tentative comprehension of the mutuality of the unconscious minds involved (mutuative interpretation). It should be accompanied by a conscious and unconscious authenticity by the analyst and his humanity should be deeply rooted. Without a genuine, intimate and profound relationship between analyst and patient, treatment will not be effective. Another aspect of his technique is was the author refers to as therapeutic Thanatos. Our activity is not exclusively erotic or libidinal, it includes the creative utilization of aggression. All essential, subtle, continuous, fine and dual experiences progressively structure the indisputable maternal law, transcendent in the physical, mental, psychic, spiritual, emotional, and also ethic levels.

Keywords : Unconscious ideology; Destructive aggressiveness of libido; Non-neutrality; Creative counter-transference; Therapeutic Thanatos; Mutuative interpretation; Mutuality of unconsciousness; Maternal law.
