This paper goes to the ins and outs of the author’s ideas on psychopathology regarding the three tempos of analysis, explaining them from the view point of the tempo of the Psychoanalytic Man ∞, or the conditional verb form. He considers as fundamental points the theory of the I, and the idea of the analyst as a position in the transference field. The author presents clinical accounts to illustrate each analytical tempo as musical tempos.
