Abstract

AZEVEDO, Ana Maria Andrade de. Some thoughts about time. J. psicanal. [online]. 2011, vol.44, n.81, pp. 67-84. ISSN 0103-5835.

The author starts this paper bringing contributions of Sigmund Freud, in relation to the question of “time,” emphasizing the existence of at least four different “times”, in his work. The time of transference, of repetition compulsion, of dreams, and the time of culture. She proposes herself to raise questions to expand the themes. Besides Freud, two other important authors, Jean Claude Rolland and André Green, are considered in this paper. They have been rereading the most important Freud’s works, in an attempt to take the best of it. The repetition in the transference, the repetition-compulsion, dreams, the unconscious temporality, in addition of aspects linked to perception and memory are stressed. Later on, the model proposed by Edelmam (1992) is considered, and the concepts of re-transcription, re-contextualization are proposed. Different temporalities are approximated when possible and a distinction is also proposed.

Keywords : Transference; Repetition-compulsion; Dream; Re-transcription; Death.
