Abstract

SCAPPATICCI, Anne Lise Sandoval Silveira. Bitterness in the search for emotional experience analysis of a child. J. psicanal. [online]. 2011, vol.44, n.81, pp. 187-202. ISSN 0103-5835.

The main vertex (Bion, 1970) of this work is the analyst’s search for the emotional experience and for its communication. This is a reflection on the possible ways one may (or not) be present amidst the “bitterness” of the analytical work with a child, on the possibility of building a language that establishes (or reestablishes) the contact (link) of both analyst and patient with the ongoing emotional experience (Language of Achievement, Bion, 1970) and / or the contact with oneself. In everyday clinical practice, constant effort is made towards establishing links between the child and the post-modern family environment to which he or she belongs, an environment of which we analysts are also part. The issues that have prompted this study stems from difference (distance) between the vertices in the individual (intrapsychic vertices) and the relational vertices of the analyst, the child and his or her family (Bion, 1970).

Keywords : Emotional experience; Child analysis; Analyst-patient relationship.
