Abstract

CANELAS NETO, José Martins. Why André Green?: a contemporary psychoanalysis in clinic's actuality. J. psicanal. [online]. 2012, vol.45, n.83, pp. 109-114. ISSN 0103-5835.

The author reports, from his personal experience with Andre Green and his work, some points that are very useful in his work as an analyst. He shows how the French psychoanalyst did a very thorough reading of Freud's work, in which great importance is given to the changing of the Freudian conception of the psyche after 1920, with the introduction of the life/death instinct duality and the creation of the Second Topic, in which the representations (ideas) lose importance against the instinctual motions. Green's conception of transference is also described, with the notion of "double transference".

Keywords : Andre Green; double transference; instinctual motions; contemporary clinic.
