Abstract

In this article the author develops considerations about the method used by Bion for the dissemination of the psychoanalytic knowledge, based upon observations taken during her readings of his inaugural book "Experiences in Groups", as well as on seminars and supervisions that he gave during the last years of his life. The author also makes comparisons between this method, the use of koan,wich is a a skill used by Zen-Buddhist masters to attain knowledge, and the Socratic method of philosophical investigation, which altogether form what the author calls the "Bionian maieutic".
