Abstract

CANELAS NETO, José Martins. Reflection on the emptiness during the psychoanalytical treatment: from the horror of emptiness to the emptiness that creates metaphors. J. psicanal. [online]. 2013, vol.46, n.85, pp. 127-140. ISSN 0103-5835.

Some of these psychic organizations were re-examined, that is to say non-neurotic organizations. In phenomenological terms, we can say that emptiness is present in almost all of them. As stressed by several authors, among them Andre Green, with the notion of "negative hallucination" the construction of a frame of reference (a setting) in the analysis of these patients is of utmost importance. Considering two clinical examples, he displays the horror and the struggle rising against the emergence of emptiness in an analytical session. Inspired by the notion of void in Physics, emptiness here is considered as "vacuity", as potentiality of the rise of sense, therefore as a void with the potential to create metaphor.

Keywords : emptiness; frame structure; horror of emptiness; metaphor.
