Resumen

MORETZSOHN, Maria Ângela Gomes. A brazilian story. J. psicanal. [online]. 2013, vol.46, n.85, pp. 209-229. ISSN 0103-5835.

This biographical account concerning Virgínia Leone Bicudo includes information about her life that hasn't been well known until now, and partial results of the research that is being carried out in her rich collection, which is kept by the Division of Documentation and Research on the History of Psychoanalysis of SBPSP. Starting with a detailed study of her family roots, it tries to follow Virgínia's steps in her education as a sociologist and, later on, as a psychoanalyst, and her important and extensive work in this area. The narrative of her pathway, which is always contextualized, provides a better understanding of how Psychoanalysis was introduced and developed in Brazil. Following up on the scope of Virgínia Bicudo's journey was inspirational to choose Drummond's verse.

Palabras clave : psychoanalysis; sociology and racial prejudice; Virgínia Bicudo; Durval Marcondes; Donald Pierson.
