Abstract

KORBIVCHER, Celia Fix. Making contact with psychotic and autistic phenomena: Container/contained and autistic transformations. J. psicanal. [online]. 2014, vol.47, n.86, pp. 195-206. ISSN 0103-5835.

The author examines in this work the way the analyst can establish contact with psychotic nuclei and autistic barriers present in neurotic patients. She uses Bion's theory of transformations as a method of observation of mental phenomena in the analytic session in order to ease the discrimination by the analyst of phenomena contained in the different groups of transformations proposed in this theory. She highlights the projective transformations and transformations in hallucinosis belonging to the psychotic area. She also emphasises the autistic transformations typical of the autistic area, a proposal presented by her in previous works. She reports clinical vignettes of two patients who operate predominantly with the non-psychotic part of the personality, despite presenting respectively psychotic and autistic nuclei, with the intention of illustrating these types of phenomena and opening a discussion on the possibility of establishing contact with such patients.

Keywords : psychotic nuclei; autistic barriers; autistic transformations.
