Based on situations encountered in the psychoanalytic institution, in personal analysis, in private practice and in the public hospital, we discuss the internalization of psychoanalysis as an object to be deidealised during training analysis. We question aspects of the three official ipa training models and we point out links with the history of the psychoanalytic movement and with contemporaneity.
