Abstract

TRINCA, Ricardo Trapé. A brief comment on Freud's idea of the "dream's navel". J. psicanal. [online]. 2015, vol.48, n.89, pp. 117-126. ISSN 0103-5835.

The author comments on two excerpts about the "dream's navel" from Freud's work, "The Interpretation of Dreams" (1900a). The author points out they reveal the existence of an unknown subject in the core of the idea of interpretation. And, he continues, there is nothing more to be said in the face of the unknown, except about the permanence of its presence. The author finds relations between the apprehension of this unknown, the apophatic method of negative theology, and Maurice Blanchot's ideas. Maurice Blanchot believed the conversation would remain as a way of creating a presence that stays in the speech, and something that always remains out of interlocutors' reach.

Keywords : interpretation; dream; unknown; apophatic.
