Resumen

SABBADINI, Andrea. The reflection of mirrors in The Dreamers. J. psicanal. [online]. 2016, vol.49, n.91, pp. 257-263. ISSN 0103-5835.

Mirrors, with their narcissistic connotations, are significant objects in many cultural productions, from literature to painting. As an illustration, I focus on an eight-minute sequence from the movie The Dreamers (2003), directed by Bernardo Bertolucci. The five mirrors in the bathroom scene provide an intriguingly multiple perspective to both them (mirrors) and us (audience), by complementing the dialogues between the three main characters of the movie. According to Lacan's and Winnicott's theories, films themselves could be seen as mirrors on which we, when searching for a sense of identity, can project aspects of ourselves.

Palabras clave : mirror; identity; movies; Bertolucci; The Dreamers; Winnicott.
