Abstract

MELICIAS, Ana Belchior. The gravity of lacking gravity: a clinical reflection. J. psicanal. [online]. 2017, vol.50, n.92, pp. 331-338. ISSN 0103-5835.

This clinical study has resulted from the similarity between a photograph, which synthesizes the emotional atmosphere in the movie Gravity (2013), and the first drawing made by a girl in analysis. They both are inserted in this study. The author proposes a psychoanalytic narrative of primordial helplessness and its related primary anxieties, by employing the aesthetic configuration "picture-drawing". She emphasizes the necessity of co-constructing a psychic space in the psychoanalytic field - "special-spacecraft" - in order to enable transformation, integration, and expansion of thought to happen. This psychic space, she continues, would clearly connect the spatial travel throughout the outside universe with the special trip throughout the inner universe.

Keywords : helplessness; dependence; child psychoanalysis; psychic space; movie.
