Abstract

SALVADOR, Isadora Nicastro; ZANETTI, Sandra Aparecida Serra  and  SEI, Maíra Bonafé. The dream as an effect of the phenomena of countertransference in the family psychoanalytic psychotherapy. J. psicanal. [online]. 2017, vol.50, n.93, pp. 159-172. ISSN 0103-5835.

The purpose of this study is to discuss the use of the psychotherapist's dream to understand the unconscious dynamics of the family, when this dream is related to aspects of countertransference. The author attempts to demonstrate, by using the analysis of two specific dreams (i.e. psychotherapist's dreams with her patients in family psychotherapy), the connection between the oneiric contents of the dream and the elements of transgenerational origin. These elements were both inherited by the family and captured by the psychotherapist's mind. They would have been hardly incorporated in any other way into the comprehension of how the family's dynamics have been organized. It was vital to the understanding of this case. The author thinks, therefore, that the psychotherapist's dreams with his patient may be included in the analysis of the case. Given the need to elaborate unconscious contents that were psychically inherited from previous generations, these dreams may play a relevant role in the setting of the family psychoanalysis.

Keywords : dream; marriage and family psychoanalytic psychotherapy; resistance.
