Abstract

MARCHINI, Sonia Maria Camargo. The crossing: the clinical practice of an announced end. J. psicanal. [online]. 2017, vol.50, n.93, pp. 257-269. ISSN 0103-5835.

The author proposes a reflection on symbolic development and the work of mourning, which was particularly focused on the anguish of separation in the analysis of a young child. It is about a specific situation in which the end of analysis was decided by the parents. The analysis was suspended six months later, as agreed between analyst and parents. This study is based on the psychoanalytic work that resulted from searching for the meaning of affects which were both experienced and expressed in the movements of transference and countertransference at different levels of symbolization.

Keywords : child psychoanalysis; interruption; anguish of separation; symbolization.
