Abstract

JUNQUEIRA FILHO, Luiz Carlos Uchôa. Psychoanalysis: its styles and applications. J. psicanal. [online]. 2018, vol.51, n.95, pp. 19-27. ISSN 0103-5835.

This article arose as a commentary to the axis "Psychoanalysis and its clinics", proposed in the Ist Biennal Symposium of the Brazilian Psychoanalytical Society of São Paulo - The Same, the Other. It suggests to modify the title to "Psycoanalysis: its styles and applications". Concerning the styles, it mentions the contrast between Argentinian and Brazilian psychoanalysis suggested by Roudinesco, where the later is seen as an "anthropophagic, colonial and bisexual" cluster. Concerning its applications, it stresses the importance to differentiate a "psychoanalytic process" from "psychoanalytical interventions", in order to prevent banalities and paradoxical reactions, where the medicine is more harmful than the disease.

Keywords : psychoanalytic process; psychoanalytical interventions; alterity.
