The author presents his trajectory of psychoanalytic training, carried out in France for thirteen years. He observes that the word formation refers to learning, which is not the essence of psychoanalysis. The analyst's personal analysis is the central axis of the training, complemented by supervisions (listening to counter-transference) and theoretical seminars. It also approaches the role of the institution, which has the responsibility to enable the psychoanalyst.
