Abstract

COCCO, Maria Regina  and  TOSTA, Rosa Maria. Dream and body in the clinical management of difficult cases: winnicottian reading. J. psicanal. [online]. 2020, vol.53, n.99, pp. 265-278. ISSN 0103-5835.

This work aims to expose the theoretical-clinical understanding of the imaginative elaboration of bodily functions in the formation of the body and the dream. His contribution sheds light on clinical management in the care of patients whose difficulties and defensive organizations have their own characteristics of clinical conditions, such as psychosis, false self, borderline, among others. The illustration contains fragments of two clinical cases and discusses them at their intersection with the psychic work of imaginative elaboration. In the first case, an agonized body is revealed in a schizophrenic split; in the second, there is an experience of false self (self), with manifestations of psychosomatic disorders, to which the shattering agony underlies. In these types of clinical situations, clinical management of regression to dependence and the analytical use of regressive dreams are necessary in the constitution of the psychosomatic unit and in the resumption of maturation.

Keywords : dream; body; psychoanalytic clinic; management; Winnicott.
