Abstract

MONTEIRO, Maria Therezinha de Lima. The psychopedagogy impact on education on the Federal District. Rev. psicopedag. [online]. 2006, vol.23, n.70, pp. 68-72. ISSN 0103-8486.

The Brasilia chapter of the Brazilian Association of Psychopedagogy has been active in the Federal District for ten years, holding conferences, meetings, courses, mini-courses, national and international seminars, symposia, panels, workshops and others activities, in collaboration with the Office of Education of the Federal District. As precursor and the first president of that body, we, together with the current president, find it appropriate to present to the people of Brasilia some of the results of our work. The intent of the study is to bring to light the fruits of some of our endeavors. The activities of psychopedagogues in the public and private schools and in other institutions, such as clinics and hospitals, etc., will be studied through a survey. Considering that the union of psychology and pedagogy is a necessary condition for educational quality, in terms of optimization of the teaching-learning process, how psychopedagogues are performing in the schools and other institutions is a topic of special interest. With a sample of 240 psychopedagogues selected randomly from a population of 800 specialists in the area, the intention is to evaluate their techniques of psychopedagogical intervention, in terms of lines of work and results obtained, as well as professional self-realization. Satisfaction with working conditions, difficulties faced and the degree of preparation offered by the university programs of study under examination constitute another area of interest. It is to be hoped that psychopedagogy may contribute to better quality education in the Federal District, through its multidimensional approach to the learner in cognitive, affective, social and moral terms. Considering that psychopedagogy deals with comprehensive education, the evaluation being proposed in this design is highly relevant, not only economically but, essentially, moral and social.
