Abstract

ORRANTIA, Josetxu. Difficulties in the mathematics learning: an evolutionary perspective. Rev. psicopedag. [online]. 2006, vol.23, n.71, pp. 158-180. ISSN 0103-8486.

The aim of this paper is to describe a theoretical frame from a developmental point of view which will allow us to analyze and understand the difficulties that the teaching and learning process implies. In order to do so, we'll start reviewing how the children's mathematical thinking develops, because we assume that learning disabilities arise from this developmental process. Afterwards we analyze some of the difficulties, focusing at the difficulties related to the computation and problem solving.
