Abstract

MUNIMOS, Silvia Szterling. A bit of history: psychological and analytical approaches to learning disabilities. Rev. psicopedag. [online]. 2007, vol.24, n.73, pp. 56-67. ISSN 0103-8486.

This paper delineates the psychopedagogical field of inquire by looking at its origins as well as its practical and conceptual developments. This historical survey of pychopedagogy attempts to find certain regularities in diverse clinical practices. Reeducational clinical practices, working with a psychological conceptualization of the individual who is objectified in the body, with its standardized and scientifically measurable "disabilities", are looked against other clinical practices that, with a particular conception of the subject as the carrier of learning practices, argue against the possibility of "controlling", "stimulating" or "developing" at will the capacities of those who do not learn exactly because they consider the imponderable dimension of unconscious desire.

Keywords : Learning; Psychoanalysis; Psychology; Unconscious.
