In the teaching, educational and clinic practice is not easy the use of terminologies, mainly with school difficulties. In the attendance to children/adolescent of public schools for evaluation and/or intervention in the Psycho Educational Laboratory of the UNIDERP is used the terminologies Learning Disorders (LD), Difficulty in the School Learning (DSL) and Specific Disorder of Reading and Writing (DRW), from definitions and delimitations proposals in the literature. The objective of the present work was to verify the efficiency in the use of these terminologies for the diagnostic hypotheses raised through evaluations of learning. Consult of all the protocols of the cases taken care and was analyzed the diagnostic hypotheses from the cases of 2006. Among the 40 cases with the complaint of school difficulty confirmed, the majority, 15 (37.5%), had the initial diagnostic hypothesis of DSL, 35% DRW and 27.5%, LD. Were distinguished the emotional and/or behavioral components. The attendance in the Laboratory is clinic, but with also educational perspective. The used terminologies had represented the data set raised in each studied case and had been able to guide the interventions.
