Abstract

GARCIA PAES, Michele Fabiane A. S.  and  SCICCHITANO, Rosa Maria Junqueira. 20 years later: a review about apprenticeship problems nowadays. Rev. psicopedag. [online]. 2008, vol.25, n.77, pp. 146-157. ISSN 0103-8486.

In 1988, a research about patients of the Centro de Atendimento Psicopedagógico da Universidade Estadual de Londrina/PR. (CAPp/UEL) showed the most patients were composed by boys from 7 to 11 years old who attended public and private schools and were oriented by teachers, educational supervisors and doctors (neurologists, child psychiatrists and pediatricians). The main reason for their searching for psychopedagogic treatment was misspelling. Twenty years later the review was retaken based on data from the reference books of the clients of CAPp/UEL from the period of 1989 to 2005. Data of age, sex, scholar period, nature of school and motives were analysed and debated. Therefore, it was possible to have a view of the learning problems of these past twenty years: the way they were seen, recognized and considered. In the first years of the XXI century (2001-2005) we could frequently see more boys from 7 to 14 years old, from 1st to 8th grade and mainly from 5th and 6th grade coming from public schools; teachers, educational supervisors, doctors (neurologists), phonoaudiologists, phychologists and psychopedagogue were the professionals who most oriented treatment for these children. The main motive were learning problems, lack of attention/concentration, hyperactivity agitation, reading problems, writing and calculus, school failing, not studying by himself/not accomplishing assignments by himself, difficulty to be made literate, low school marks. We haven't been seen, in the past 20 years, significant changes on tendency of culpability on child and his family for the learning problems. The persistence of learning difficulties being made literate, in the development on comprehensive writing and reading, points to the necessity to accomplish preventive actions targeting to face the problem.
