Abstract

MARCHELLI, Paulo Sergio; DIAS, Carmen Lúcia  and  SCHMIDT, Ivone Tambelli. Autonomy and reform in school: new routes of the learning-teaching processes in Brazil. Rev. psicopedag. [online]. 2008, vol.25, n.78, pp. 282-296. ISSN 0103-8486.

This paper aims at reflecting on the principle of pedagogical autonomy conferred by the current National Education Law (LDB) to schools and Brazilian teaching networks. It is discussed the concept of open school applied to institutions where teaching is performed according to the idea of a school building with open area. It is presented the "Escola da Ponte", founded by José Pacheco 30 years ago in Lisbon, Portugal, in whose pedagogical project the students are not distributed by classes and school years. Brazilian experiences are highlighted based on the concept of open school and it is analyzed how the principle of autonomy conferred by the LDB collaborates to the creation of projects that may renew the pedagogical practice and establish new interpretations to teaching methodology. This article draws the conclusion that in recent years, the Brazilian schools have increased their pedagogical diversity and plurality, pointing new courses according to which that phenomenon has been carried out.
