This article is the result of the completion of course work Specialization in Psycopedagogy held at a private institution in the interior of Rio Grande do Sul. The idea was to think of a theme that could demonstrate and expand the knowledge we have built over the course. Thinking about it, this work is mainly focused on reflecting on the relevance that a simple game has for children's development process and in particular their literacy. Thus, this work showed that from some common tricks of child everyday can benefit the development of reading skills, writing and mathematics. For this purpose, literature review was performed on the concepts of learning and learning difficulties, pointing his relationship with psychomotor development and consequently addressing the prevention of disgnosias and dispraxias as prevention of learning disabilities. Later we present what some authors consider skills needed for the acquisition of reading, writing and math skills, these can be stimulated through traditional games. Playing develops psychomotor, mental, emotional and cognitive skills as well; It is part of the child's overall development. We believe that the proposal presented here can be the kickoff for institutional intervention with teachers who work in kindergarten so they can reflect on their practice in school.
