Abstract

In this paper some aspects involved in the concept of learning disabilities as the cognitive skills and executive functions of children will be presented, identifying the most affected areas in a process of learning disability. One should emphasize the importance of proper neuropsychological evaluation which shall allow professionals to better understand the extent of cognitive impairment selecting the proper rehabilitation techniques. Participated in the survey twenty-one students of both sexes who attend between the 1st and 3rd year of elementary school, and eleven without any indication of learning disabilities and ten indicating learning disabilities by the teacher. Statistically significant differences in cognitive abilities were found between students with and without learning disabilities. By comparing the groups, the most affected functions were observed. Neuropsychological assessment test NEUPSILIN-InfR2 was used, assessing eight neuropsychological functions and non-verbal reasoning test R2.
