this article aims to analyse the kind of the relationship of the health units with adolescents in the city of Fortaleza, CE in view of the symbolic violence of Pierre Bourdieu. So, were organized, consisting of professionals from the Basic Family Health Units. The number of participants ranged from 10 to 15 people. The criteria for the selection of units were those that have had some project to promote health or prevent disease in adolescents, who have professionals those wich are recognized for developing care for adolescents. The discourse of the group were recorded and transcribed by an independent observer. The collected material was analysed according to the classic criteria for content review. The results showed that there is a disbelief in the implantation of public policies for the health of the adolescense and the sustainability of programs and projects is weakened by the absence of some structure of suport.
