Abstract

ALMEIDA, Maria Emilia Sousa. Revisiting the feminine: inside out of culture. Mudanças [online]. 2019, vol.27, n.1, pp. 27-36. ISSN 0104-3269.

This article aims to discuss some psychic and cultural aspects of feminine, from the relation between unconscious and cultural imaginary. At first, feminine is studied in its linguistic aspect. Afterwards, the bibliographic method allows to use psychoanalytic theory in two phases. Firstly, some mythical feminine figures from Judaic, Christian and Greek cultures are examined; next, some unconscious and conscious ideas about feminine are presented. Some changes from phallocentric approach about feminine to more contemporary and more independent from masculine as a value pattern in psyche and culture can be observed.

Keywords : representation; affects; feminine; psyche; culture.
