Abstract

COLOMBO, Maristela. Modernity: The development of contemporary man and consumer society. Rev. bras. psicodrama [online]. 2012, vol.20, n.1, pp. 25-39. ISSN 2318-0498.

Faced with so many changes, this article proposes a discussion to understand how the contemporaneous citizen is influenced by changes in the modern world and how it is through them. It seeks to provoke discussion on contemporary society as a source of displeasure in civilization and its contribution in situations potentially at risk in the contexts of individual, social, work and family. It also discusses the effects of modernity on the contemporaneous citizen, as he is affected by conditions that are often unknown, but are consequences of the time in which he exists. These times aggressive and ruthless, that only gives a chance to those who consume and those who may find themselves in situations considered "normal" and "legal".

Keywords : Modernity; consumer society; cultural conserves and liquid modernity.
