A review of the risks in the helping professions, considering the ethical imperatives and limits in the practice of psychotherapy, as well as specific variables of occupational stress and psychopathology in this field, with coping recommendations, programs and guides. Proposals for the therapists' supervision/intervision and self-care in the different (emotional, physical, economical and spiritual) aspects are made, representing protective practices in an integral perspective. Workshops are presented as an illustration, framed into the role theory and the scene theories of Moreno and his followers, and also the psycho(socio)dramatic methodology. We work with the metaphor in the myth of "Chiron, the hurt healer", who was not able to heal his wound.
