Abstract

SOARES, Luisa Villela  and  PENSO, Maria Aparecida. Multi-family Group intervention for working with families considered as violent by schools. Rev. bras. psicodrama [online]. 2014, vol.22, n.2, pp. 15-24. ISSN 0104-5393.

This article presents the results of multi-family group meetings, a methodology designed to work with families referred by the school due to their violent relationship-dynamics. The aim is to prevent violence against children and adolescents, and to shed some light on how these families function. This research explores the material produced by eight families in five such meetings, during which attempts were made to, jointly with the families, create an approach that would allow them to think about family relationships and what they considered to be actual or potential risk in their dynamics. The results showed that everyday violence is directly reflected in family life. This violence mostly is due to the failure of State to fulfill its role on guaranteeing peoples' rights.

Keywords : Family relationships; Social Intervention; Violence. Prevention.
