Abstract

MELLO, Debora  and  WECHSLER, Mariângela Pinto da Fonseca. Bioatry: an essential concept in the territory of J. L. Moreno's work. Rev. bras. psicodrama [online]. 2017, vol.25, n.1, pp. 38-48. ISSN 0104-5393.  http://dx.doi.org/10.15329/2318-0498.20170005.

The concept of Bioatry was created by Moreno in response to concerns and threats to the maintenance of life in the biosphere. The present study was developed in two stages. The first stage as a theoretical review connects Bioatry as a meta-axis in Morenian theory and the second one as an application uses the sociopsychodramatic method and explores, in five distinct groups, the meanings that the participants attributed to their relations with the Earth as well as the possibilities of engaging themselves or not in initiatives aiming at sustainability. Results suggests some categorizations about positive, ambivalent or neutral and negative choices in relation to the research topic, also possible ways to broaden this reflection in new studies.

Keywords : focus groups; emotional experiences; bioatry; sustainable development; sociodramatic method.
