The purpose of this study was to identify validity and reliability evidences of the Revised Spontaneity Assessment Inventory (SAI-R). A total of 439 adults and adolescents, divided into clinical and non-clinical groups, were composed, respectively, by users of two psychology clinics-school in Brasília (DF), and by college students and patient's companions. In order to verify the factorial structure of the SAI-R, the Exploratory Factor Analysis was used; the solution with one factor was adequate for both groups. The internal consistency assessed using Cronbach's alpha was 0.93 for the clinical group and 0.92 for the non-clinical one. The test was also able to discriminate the groups. The SAI-R has presented good validity and reliability evidence in the sample studied.
