Abstract

This article aims to reflect on the construction of female subjectivity and the meanings produced from the amount that the body assumes in actuality, with the contribution theoric of psychoanalysis. The influence of media is discussed, especially in advertising, design values of contemporary female body as well as the value conferred upon it in our current society ruled by consumerism and "morality of the spectacle." After the reflection of the elements treated concluded that the manner of women relate to their body is the desire to obtain the gaze of the Other. Thus, it will be in the search of this gaze that the female subject built her subjectivity.
