The following paper as a thematic essay raises the problematization of making mental health diagnosis. From the current praxes, it reflects on the relevance and implications of making diagnostic hypotheses of mental disorders mainly when concerning childhood and adolescence. Far from being a concise intervention, these diagnoses, because of their peculiarities, are still poorly exploited or made under various claims. The main issue which permeates the paper is how much making proper and adequate diagnosis of early and incipient mental disorders is a topic for scientific debate more than it is for attacks and dodges.
