SOUZA, Alberto Carlos De. Milton Nascimento: a street called world. Barbaroi [online]. 2011, n.35, pp. 164-178. ISSN 0104-6578.

The starting point of this study will explore the music of Milton Nascimento and his fellow "movement" "Clube da Esquina", highlighting the relevance of all this work to the Brazilian culture. The aforementioned "movement" flourished in Minas Gerais at the height of one of the most critical periods in Brazilian contemporary history: the military dictatorship. Meanwhile, the "Clube da Esquina" -given the diversity of topics in his lyrics and his unique poetic -and then spread throughout the Brazilian cultural space. Speaking of "Clube da Esquina" is not an easy task because there is a painful absence or presence of this movement pale in studies dealing with popular music. The "Clube da Esquina" was a circle of friends who met in a small pub on the corner of Calle y Calle Divinópolis Paraisópolis, in a bucolic suburb of Belo Horizonte (Minas Gerais -Brazil), called Santa Teresa. It was part of that fellowship, interested in music, film and poetry, Milton Nascimento, Wagner Tiso, Fernando Brant, Toninho Horta, Beto Guedes, Moura Tavinho, brothers and Marcio Borges Lô, Robertinho Silva, Nivaldo Ornelas, Ronaldo Bastos, Murilo Antunes Nelson Angelo Novelli, among others. At these meetings, sprinkled with lots of beer, Milton Nascimento and his companions. Milton was and remains the largest movement reference "Clube da Esquina."
