ZAMBONI, Jésio  e  BARROS, Maria Elizabeth Barros de. Micropolitics of activity. Barbaroi [online]. 2012, n.36, pp. 113-137. ISSN 0104-6578.

This theoretical essay revisits the concept of activity developed by some machines of analysis of labor processes. That is, ergonomics, ergology and clinic of activity. This approach is characterized as micropolitics for privileging the ethical and political dimensions of those dispositives taken in the context of collective struggles in capitalism. Activity is defined as an unresolved concept due to the incessant variations of labor. The problem of activity is also discussed as a function in the scientific field and a concept in the philosophical field, highlighting their relations as analytical instruments. The relationship between labor conditions and their organization is also discussed from the problematic developed by ergonomics. From that point, the development of the concept of activity is followed from the concept of actual work, defined by its continual divergence from the prescribed work. This dislocation will then allow for the conceptualization of activity as the becoming of work, redefining the analytical tool. Then, activity is defined as always situated, emphasizing that the situation is marked by an abstract movement that makes possible the production of transversality among various lived cases at work for the purpose of constructing a problem to live. Starting with the work situation of an urban mass-transit bus driver, the micropolitical lines of analysis of activity are discussed: the hard line that separates prescribed work and actual work in contrast to the vibrating line that is more prominent in the analysis of situated activity.
