Abstract

BERNARDES, Anita Guazelli. Potencies in the health field: care as na ethical, political, esthetical experience. Barbaroi [online]. 2012, n.36, pp. 175-190. ISSN 0104-6578.

This paper analyzes care as a form of health work. This reflection considers the contours the health field has taken in the articulation with care practices. For this cartographic exercise, three lines of discussion have been drawn: practices of self-care in the Greek-Roman experience; bio-politics in Modernity; and contemporary challenges of care practices in Brazil after the Health Reform. The analysis tools have been supported by Foucaultian ideas about politics, games of truth and technologies of the self. These tools have helped us to circumscribe considerations about the need for positioning care in the field of ethics, as an esthetic, political experience.

Keywords : Care; Bio-politics; Health; Ethics.
